In the opening bar scene, Ruby asks Estelle/Deb 'What if George Washington never wrote the Declaration of Independence?' during an attempt to get her to talk to Ryan Waverly. However, George Washington did not write the Declaration of Independence. It was written by Thomas Jefferson and was supported by a committee comprised of; Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, Roger Sherman, Robert Livingston, and Thomas Jefferson, before being signed by John Hancock and Charles Thomson and printed by John Dunlap.
