Story

Jessica Cutler is a small-town journalist sent to cover the grand opening of a controversial new church. As the church digs its roots into the town and its residents, Jessica's life begins to take a crazy, violent turn.

The entire climatic sequence in the church was shot mostly in sequence on the last day of shooting. Coverage was shot around characters who needed makeup changes, like Nick Triola's eyeball and Seth's bloodied face. The last shot filmed was the shot of Thomas and Jessica through the doorway.

Jordan O'Neal and Vivian Glazier tested together as their characters during the initial auditioning process, reading the scene where Thomas confronts Vivian outside his house. The two ultimately got the part.

Daniel Tucker said in an interview he was surprised by the amount of religious people who were drawn to the material and ended up working on the movie.

Daniel Tucker said in an interview the sermons and wedding vows were the easiest parts to write because he had witnessed them in person in his own life.
