Director Christian Winters removed his name from the project and replaced it with the frequently used pseudonym Alan Smithee, generally used by directors that felt they totally lost creative control of their own film.
The script is based on a nightmare of the writer, Paul Travers.
Kane Hodder has played iconic villain Jason Voorhees, in the Friday the 13th films, more than any other actor (a total of four times out of the 12 movies). Coincidentally, he has a fight scene during this movie with a character named Jason.
I got to see Kane Hodder talk about this film at HorrorHound and he said that out all off the movies he has ever worked on, his youngest son told him that OLD 37 was his favorite.
