Pandora: Beneath the Paradise is a South Korean thriller series that follows the life story of a woman living the perfect life only to find her past life come back to haunt her. What is impressive is the show's execution of its potentially exciting premise, which involved shady organisations conducting experiments on the mind and hiding operatives with no memory of who they really are in plain sight. However, the storyline is rather exhausting and dragging, and the promise of brain experiments remained mostly unexplored until the end, which is not enough. The show's plot twists involving amnesia and unknown twin siblings is quite cliched too, with the trope overused in films of this genre. Further, the show's character development and pacing are quite slow too, despite its cast of talented actors, such as Lee Sang-yoon and Lee Ji-ah, bringing forward their A game. Overall, Pandora: Beneath the Paradise sci-fi ideas are superb and the acting is great, but the implementation could have been improved upon.
