The show is initially and Hindi adaption of an popular South Indian show thirumathi selvam which use to air on SUN TV , ZEE TV then approached EKTA KAPOOR to make its Hindi remake , while at the same time all the Balaji shows very going off air and no one wanted to work with Ekta as they felt she can only make saas Bahu soaps , this was the Chance given by ZEE not all brought EKTA back to the top postion but even the show was a big time hit , and still is , aired in various continents in respective languages with numerous awards to its credit (PAVITRA RISHTA) is one of the best shows ever made on Indian television
