This movie was made with Sync sound, which records the actual sounds and voices on set, unlike the conventional dubbing which is done in most Telugu movies.
The Spitfire BBQ food truck shown in the movie is an actual food truck in Bangalore, India. Also it's the only BBQ food truck in India.
Director Tharun Bhascker Dhaassyam, in one of the interviews cited films like Chef, The hundred food journey as his inspirations for #Pellichoopulu. Also he says that the love story of the lead characters was partly inspired from the lives of owners of the actual Spitfire BBQ food truck.
The producers initially suggested 'Pellichoopulu' as the title. They added a '#' to make it appear modern.
This movie was REMADE in hindi with the title Mitron (2018).
