The film revolves around the life of Sasanka, the descendant of a zamindar family, who is passionate about Jatra, the folk theatre of Bengal. Disenchanted with the commercialization of the art form, he isolates himself in his decaying ancestral mansion. His life takes a turn when his sister-in-law and her son come to live with him after her husband's death, forcing him to confront his past and his estranged relationships.
