Kathleen Kinmont said she was the star, but only made $50 a day, which was barely enough to cover her gas to and from the Mohave desert where it was filmed. It was also a non-union film. She only took it because producers told her it would only be released in Europe. But they lied. It showed up on HBO and was released on video in the U.S. She almost lost her Screen Actors Guild membership because if it, but they let her off with just a warning. To make matters worse, she didn't make any money from the U.S. distribution.

Producers wanted Kathleen Kilmont to film nude scenes, but she refused because she felt they were gratuitous. They also weren't paying her enough to even consider it.

During the scene in Guy's home before it blows up. Phoenix winds up a small music box that resembles the music box in Mad Max 2 that the Feral Kid had.
