TRIVIA

Trivia

Zack Snyder wrote a script for a Star Wars spin-off movie taking place away from the established Skywalker storyline. Once Lucasfilm was sold to Disney, the project was shelved. Since then, Snyder has been reworking the script to be an original sci-if story unrelated to Star Wars entirely. After the success of Army of the Dead (2021), Netflix gave Snyder the green light to make the movie.

The story is majorly influenced by Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai (1954), which is Zack Snyder's favorite movie.

Zack Snyder's second fully-digitally shot film after Army of the Dead. The rest of his films are shot on 35mm or 65mm film. This is likely due to the partnership with Netflix, which has a long-standing shooting on 4K rule.

This is the first time Ed Skrein and Michiel Huisman have worked together since Huisman replaced Skrein as Daario Naharis in Game of Thrones (2011).

This is the third collaboration of Jena Malone and Zack Snyder after Sucker Punch (2011) and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016).
