TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Then-President Bill Clinton enjoyed this movie so much that he even invited John Travolta to a party, on one condition, he must come as Governor Jack Stanton. Travolta declined.

The lead was originally offered to Tom Hanks, who turned it down because of his friendship with then-President Bill Clinton. Hanks claimed he turned down the part because he was bashful playing a middle-aged role.

Larry Hagman's appearance at the political rally was kept a secret from the extras in the crowd. The reaction when he walks on stage is genuine. However, Hagman was recovering from a broken rib at the time and was in great discomfort, so was unable to really enjoy the moment.

Allison Janney said that she was offered the role of C.J. Cregg on "The West Wing (1999)" after Aaron Sorkin saw her small part as Miss Walsh in this movie.

Joe Klein, who works for Time Magazine, was revealed to be the "Anonymous" writer of the book, on which this movie was based.
