Qodrat Review

Qodrat is an Indonesian action drama film that follows the story of Qodrat, a young boy who becomes a part of a group of orphaned children who sell black-market goods on the streets of Kabul to survive. However, things take a turn when Qodrat is arrested and sent to a Soviet orphanage, where he struggles to adapt to the new environment and faces various challenges. The plus points of the film include its realistic portrayal of the war-torn Afghanistan of the 1980s, powerful performances by the young cast members, and the deep exploration of themes such as loss, displacement, and determination. There certainly are issues with the script including a slow pace and a lack of depth in character development throughout the film's runtime. Overall, Qodrat is a well-intentioned and affecting movie that sheds light on a lesser-known aspect of Afghan history and provides a compelling portrayal of a child's struggle for survival in a time of war.
