While enrolled in film school, the crew checked out equipment for their class project, but were secretly using it to make this movie instead. To cover for themselves, the crew made "The Denver Ninja Posse" over a weekend and told the school they'd been working on it for months.
This film was made on a budget of around $3,000.00, and took over eight months to shoot. Two CGI artists worked for another eighteen months to complete the film's more than 200 effects shots.
This fan film, as well as its prequel "Freddy VS Ghostbusters" were referenced in 2009's "Ghostbusters: The Video Game".

Pavel Karnov: My balls. Girl at Bar: You're cute. Pavel Karnov: See? Neil Anderson: You gotta be shitting me, man. That's the worst line I've ever heard."
