IMDb"Return to Seoul" is a drama film directed and written by Davy Chou and was released on 18 November, 2022. The film's story is about a twenty five year old young lady, Freddy who was born in South Korea but moved from there as she was adopted by a French couple. Later, she returns to South Korea in order to find her biological parents. But she didn't know that a lot of surprises were waiting for her. Film has a fragmented ,challenging, and episodic structure too that serves well the inner story it is trying to tell. Park Ji-Min's performance as Freddie was absolutely brilliant. The spontaneous moments that she orchestrated were really stunning and really the highlight of the film. The supporting cast includes Jimin, Yoann Zimmer, Guka Han, Kim Sun-Young , Oh Kwang rok and others - all of them also delivered a powerful performance. Definitely, this film's a great watch .

First film as an actress of visual artist Park Ji-min.
The movie is based on the life of Laure Badufle, a friend of director Davy Chou. Like Freddie, she was born in South Korea, stayed a year there before being adopted in France. At age 23, she came back and lived for two years there before returning to France. A few years after that, Chou accompanied her to South Korea, when they met her biological father and grandmother. According to him, the meeting was full of emotions, of regret and bad communication, with the translator struggling to convey Badufle's anger into polite Korean.
The story is set successively in 2014, 2016, 2021 and 2022.
First movie role for Park Ji-min, who is a plastic artist. During pre-production, she had a lot of questions and criticisms regarding the script, and pushed director Davy Chou to identify some clichés about gender roles, seduction or clothing he unconsciously put in the character of Freddie. As a result, the character in the movie is very much a product of the two of them.
"Tena: [to Freddie] You are a sad person."
