James Townsend's first movie role.
A majority of dialogue in scenes was improvised.
Some characters were cast from people who were merely walking down the street during the day of filming. The director, having actors not show up to set, was desperate to fill the roles. In recognition, he asked passer-bys if they would be in the film.
There are several references to "Wabash County," which is supposed to be in Washington State, where the entire movie was filmed, and all of the scenes were set. However, there is no Wabash County, Washington State, USA. There are only two Wabash Counties in the entire USA, in two neighboring states, one in the state of Indiana, and the second in the state of Illinois.
