TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

According to the special features, everything in the film was taken from the real Raimond's life.

In Roman mythology, Romulus was left in the wilderness with his brother, and went on to found the city of Rome.

Many of the cast members have close to the same origins as their characters. Eric Bana, Franka Potente, and Marton Csokas all have large family ties to Europe.

Eric Bana stated in an interview that during filming, he remembered much of his own family's struggles and as a result, it felt a bit like his own history.

First film for both Kodi Smit-McPhee and directorial debut for Richard Roxburgh (though he has previously worked as a theater director).

Popular Dialogues

"Raimond: Excuse me, who was that singing? [indicates gramophone] Girl on the porch: Jerry Lee Lewis. They call him the Killer. Raimond: Why? Girl on the porch: Because he kills people I guess."

"Raimond: [noticing the looks that the ladies are giving Romulus] Why are they looking at you? Romulus: Because they want to be friendly."
