Sharmila Tagore was offered Zeenat Aman' s role. But she wanted to do Moushumi Chatterjee' s role. Manoj Kumar decided to stick with his vision.
The song " Hai Hai Yeh Majboori" was meant for the character played by Moushumi Chatterjee. However owing to Moushumi's advance state of pregnancy Manoj had to scrap his plans. He picturized it on Zeenat instead. If closely observed, the song does not really fit in with Zeenat's character in the movie.
Amitabh Bachchan was not a big star when the movie released, his photo was smaller than all the stars in the movie on the posters. But when the movie was re- released after ten years on the posters, the photo of Amitabh Bachchan was much bigger than other stars in the movie.
Only film of Amitabh Bachchan as college student. He also did a college student role in Kabhi Kabhi.
Due to Moushmi Chatterjee's pregnancy Hay Hay Majboori was shot with Zeenat Aman.
