Mukul Anand's Insaaf and Raj Sippy Satyamev Jayate are the first films Vinod Khanna had signed when he came back from America. Both filmakers were rushing to complete their movies to release first.
Raj N.Sippy and Vinod Khanna had worked toghether in Inkaar which was Raj N.Sippy's first film as director. Satyamev Jayate was their second film toghether and Mahaveer the third.
Meenakshi Seshadri played the role of a prostitute in the movie, and is openly shown to be sharing a bed with Vinod Khanna. This was in sharp contrast to her image of the girl every man wants to take to his mother as the 'bahu'.
Madhavi had the meatiest role of the three heroines though there was no romantic involvement with Vinod Khanna. Hema malini was the original choice for this role but could not give bulk dates since the movie was shot in a single schedule.
Anita Raj in a small role as Vinod Khanna's love interest was the only one of the three heroines to share a romantic duet with him. Dil Mein Ho Tum sung by Bappi Lahiri and S Janaki was a chartbuster.
