The restaurant where Dean proposes to Zoe is The King's Contrivance in Columbia, MD, and is filmed in the same dining room where Director Erik Kristopher Myers proposed to his wife, Roulette Producer Laura Myers.
Frank Latini, a friend of Myers' father, gave Director Erik Kristopher Myers a copy of John Waters' Female Trouble (1974) when he was fourteen, introducing him to no-budget Baltimore-based film making. The film had a major influence on Myers, and introduced him to prolific character actor 'George Stover', who plays the prison chaplain who walks 'Divine' down the last mile at the end of Female Trouble. Myers finally had the opportunity to work with Stover on Roulette as Dr. Temple. The day Stover's scenes were shot just happened to be the day Frank Latini cameoed in the support group.
The support group scene at the beginning of the film includes, among others, cameos by the Director's father ('John Myers', who is seated beside Ali Lukowski); Alex Krowzow, who shot behind the scenes footage throughout production; and Myers' fellow XM Traffic & Weather reporters Tory Gates and Amy Freedman, the latter of whom played Tracy Adler, the group leader.
Writer/Director Erik Kristopher Myers swore off film making after this film.
