The film revolves around Ponni who is a police constable and has no high ambitions in life. She lives with her husband Maari and her daughter Dhanam. Ponni only wishes to provide two meals a day to her family. This depicts her simplicity. On the other hand, we see Maari as a mill worker who wants to break the shackles of poverty and the prevailing caste issues in his village. In the film, we further see Maari (Kanna Ravi) lose his job after a severe fight with his colleagues. He goes home and tells everything to his wife Ponni. And she asks him to apologize to his boss for getting his job back. The most unexpected twist came when the owner began a dirty fight with Maari, instead of accepting his apology. The never-ending struggle of her life begins from here. When a lower-caste villager bad-mouthed the mill owner he killed Maari and Dhaman to teach the family a lesson. This traumatic event shook Ponni and she decided to take revenge against her family’s murderers. In this bloody battle, her half-brother Sangaya stood by her.
