TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

The legend of the Woodsman is very similar to the legend of Cropsy, a popular campfire tale told at summer camps around the upstate New York area. The summer camp slasher movie The Burning (1981) was inspired by this tale.

The song "Perfect World" played during the end credits is a sound-alike for "Walking on Sunshine" by Katrina & The Waves.

The song "Summertime" used during a montage is a sound-alike for "Hot Hot Hot" by David Johansen as Buster Poindexter.

After the dam is blown and the gang is exploring the abandoned town the camera zooms in on a theater which is shown to have been playing White Heat (1949) and The Public Enemy (1931), both James Cagney films.

Matthew Lillard (Shaggy) and Phil LaMarr (Darryl) share the same birth date; January 24. Phil is 4 years older than Matthew.

Popular Dialogues

"Daphne Blake: [excited] Somebody likes you! Velma Dinkley: Shut up!"

"Shaggy Rogers: Burt, if you have any more campfire stories, I'd appreciate it if you keep them to yourself!"
