Shahmaran is a fantasy Turkish series which has potential and a lot to offer. The show will not be everyone's cup of tea as Turkish series are very underrated. The episodes in comparison with Hollywood might be a little longer which can get tedious for some people but this obviously varies from person to person. The story of the legend of Shahmaran is beautifully depicted in a mysterious and almost intimidating way. The series also includes elements of romance and suspense which makes it more intense and gripping. The viewers who are not into fantasies will not be that attracted toward this series but for those who are into it will find themselves having a good time. The choice of characters is decent and the locations used in the film are very eye-pleasing and interesting. The storyline develops smoothly and it has unique aspects which does make it worth watching.

The title "Shahmaran" is derived from the Kurdish 'shah' (king) and 'maran' (snakes). Literally translated it means "The King of Snakes".
