"Sher Shivraj" is the fourth in Digpal Lanjekar's series of films on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and brings alive the story of Shivaji Maharaj's triumph over Afzalkhan, and the Maratha army's win in the Battle of Pratapgad. Chinmay Mandelkar playing the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj brings his top game and stands out among the huge star cast. It is not wrong to say that he has completely mastered this role of Shivaji Maharaj. He channels the rage of the character so well that it angers the audience too. Other actors who also did a great job were Mrinal Kulkarni, Ajay Purkar, Sameer Dharmadhikari, Isha Keskar, and Vaibhav Mangle. The vfx was not up to the mark and could have been much better. The most important climax scene was also not executed properly and looks very ordinary and there's no excitement in it. Background music is good in some places but fails in carrying the momentum in most of the scenes.
