This movie was shot on location all over Akron, Ohio and Cleveland, Ohio. Some of the basketball scenes were shot at Case Western Reserve University near downtown Cleveland, Ohio. The actor portraying, LeBron James, Mookie Cook, plays D-1 college basketball at University of Oregon, and the actor playing Carmelo Anthony, Jett Howard, plays D-1 college basketball at University of Michigan. -Brad Pyner

The real Romeo Travis is one of the head coaches for one of the teams the fighting Irish play early on in the movie.

The real Dru Joyce III is actually right handed but the actor portraying him, Caleb McLaughlin, is left handed so he's portrayed as a lefty in the movie. Similarly, Romeo Travis is a lefty in real life but the actor portraying him, Scoot Henderson, is right handed and is therefore right handed in the movie.

The Actor playing Romeo Travis was Scoot Henderson of the G-League Ignite. He is the Youngest player ever to play in the NBA at 17 years old. - Derwin Rowser.

In the opening 3 minutes it sets the year as 1996 and mentions LeBron as being 10 years old and Lil Dru Joyce as 9. LeBron was born in 1984 which would have made him 11 or 12 year old at that time and Lil Dru would have been 10 to 11 years, depending on the month the movie was set.
