IMDbJames Patterson ("Jeffery Butler") died of cancer several months after production was complete. His lines were dubbed by another actor.
After leaving the drive-in circuit in the early 1970s, this movie fell into the public domain. It remained obscure until the mid-1980s, when it appeared on Elvira's Movie Macabre (1981). Afterward, it began developing a cult following that grew with its eventual release on home video.
The house used for the Butler Mansion still stands in Oyster Bay, Long Island, NY.
John Carradine never utters a word in the film. His character's "croaking" noises were dubbed in during post-production.
Many of the cast were former "superstar" actor/personalities from Andy Warhol's "Factory" years: Mary Woronov (who was at one time married to director Theodore Gershuny), supporting players Ondine, Candy Darling, Kristen Steen, Tally Brown, Lewis Love, filmmaker Jack Smith, and artist Susan Rothenberg.
"Diane Adams: How old are you? Jeffrey Butler: You mean how many years have I lived?"
