When Alice has her examination she is supported by a senior scientist. It is Dmitri Mendeleev (1834-1907), a famous Russian scientist, who is the founder of the Periodic Table of Elements. In 1869 he presented his discovery to the Russian Chemical Society.
To give authenticity to the film, several of the pieces of jewelry, including Alisa's necklace and ring and Severina's tiara were real. Lended to the production by Garrard & Co.
