In the early morning on the first day of filming, location scouts stumbled upon a grenade sitting in a driveway. Production was stopped while the police and bomb squad were summoned and, after it was determined the grenade was non-explosive and the set cleared, resumed two hours later.

Stana Katic, who plays the oldest sister Carolina, is the oldest of her own set of siblings.
