Much of the movie was shot on location at an abandoned repatriation hospital in the southern suburbs of Adelaide. This was the Daw Park Repatriation General Hospital.
Actor James Cromwell first collaborated with producer David Lightfoot when the latter was the location manager on Chris Noonan's 'Babe' (1995).
Actor Max Cullen and actress Jacki Weaver both recently appeared in the Australian movie 'Goldstone' (2016).
Actor Jack Thompson and actress Jacki Weaver both previously appeared in both 'Caddie' (1976) and 'Petersen' (1974) as well as the 'The Volunteers: Part 1' (1971) episode of the television series 'Spyforce' (1971-1972).
With funding from the South Australian Film Corporation (SAFC), the shoot took place on location in Adelaide and South Australia and at the Adelaide Studios of the SAFC.
