Peter Graves and John de Lancie, who played romantic rivals here, squared off as adversaries in the premiere episode of Mission: Impossible (1988). de Lancie appeared in Final Descent (1997), which was similarly set on an airliner with inoperative controls.

John de Lancie's character calls Billy Crystal's character a "pansy" in which Crystal says he's been told that before. On Soap, Crystal would play Jody, a homosexual character.
