When James Dellsandro and his family show up to Louis Mandylor's office, the family was in fact recruited from a laundromat across the from the actual set because the original woman who was going to play the grandmother did not show up to film the scene and the crew had to quickly gather people to complete it the same day.
All of the numbers and invoices written out by the salesmen in the movie are in fact real numbers according to co-writer Joe Yanetty and everything treated the way he had done it when he worked at a car dealership for two years.
When Louis Mandylor and Lori Laughlin have their fight and she breaks down into tears, Mandylor was actually a little intoxicated while filming the scene in order to capture the mood of the moment, which he felt was important. Laughlin actually did start shedding tears, to the satisfaction of Director Roger Nygard.
