Rotten Tomatoes"Swagger," the newest Apple TV+ series, serves as a reminder that lofty concept or a brilliant hook are not prerequisites for good television. When it is done this effectively, character-driven drama will always have a place in the landscape. This film about a young guy negotiating the minefield of youth athletics, which was co-produced by NBA great Kevin Durant and is partially based on his own experiences, is expertly constructed and surprisingly simple to adore. The script occasionally has a tendency to emphasise its issues a little bit too forcefully, but with each new episode, the ensemble and the complex characters they have been given gradually outweigh any critiques. It's just a surprisingly likeable programme with characters you want to cheer for and hang out with every week. Sometimes a television programme only needs to be that. More of that would be nice, in our opinion.
