There is not liquid acid in the AA/AAA batteries. Some are acidic but the big majority of the ones sold in USA are in fact alkaline, the "opposite" of acidic. Still they can cause serious harm.
Joe Wright is the film's producer and the film was shot in May 2018. Haley Bennett was already pregnant with Wright's child before filming. Bennett had a daughter in December of that year. Wright's ex-wife Anushka Shankar said she divorced Wright because Bennett and Wright had an affair.
