Michael Carreras' screen-writing pseudonym Henry Younger was a play on fellow "Hammer" producer Anthony Hinds' nom-de-plume John Elder.
Unlike most previous "Mummy" films, the undead title character in this film is not a lowly slave cursed and buried alive as punishment for his transgressions, but is instead the actual son of a Pharaoh and a prince of Egypt.
