The film was originally titled "The Devil's Light" but was later changed to "Prey for the Devil".

The title makes a play on words between "pray" and "prey" taking advantage the similar phonetics. In Spain the title was translated as "Reza por el diablo", using "pray" for the translation. To use "prey", the title would have been "presa para el diablo".
