TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Two Dodge Chargers were purchased for a total of $2; after the film was completed they would be sold back to the original owner for $1.25 apiece.

The original Dukes - Tom Wopat, John Schneider and Catherine Bach - were all offered cameos in this movie. All three declined because they had read the screenplay and hated it.

Many of the jumps and car chase scenes were filmed on an agricultural research station at Louisiana State University. The station was leased to Warner Brothers during the off season.

The location for the drifting scene where the General Lee makes several laps around a monument is actually Lee Circle in New Orleans. In one shot, the camera angle is such that the statue of General Robert E. Lee, himself, appears to be looking down upon the General Lee as it passes.

Seann William Scott openly regretted making the film. While most critics say it was too crude compared to the original, Scott actually felt that an R-rating would have "allowed me, Johnny and Jay to make a more enjoyable film."

Popular Dialogues

"Daisy Duke: You know what's gonna happen. They're gonna get caught and get thrown in jail. Then I'm gonna have to shake my ass at somebody to get them out. Uncle Jesse: That's why we love ya, honey."

"Uncle Jesse: What do you call a farmer with a sheep under each arm? Luke Duke: What? Uncle Jesse: A playboy."
