The film is a sequel to the 1995 movie 'The Brothers McMullen', which won the Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival.
Writer, director, and star Edward Burns was inspired to write the sequel after reading about young adults moving back home due to increasing housing costs.
The movie was filmed in part at Edward Burns' real-life family home in Valley Stream, Long Island, New York.
