TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Tom is portrayed by Thomas Smittle who participated in the actual program on which the movie is based. Thomas was in the program from 2009-2011 and had the top selling horse in the history of the program, a red roan gelding that sold for $8500.

Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre's feature film directorial debut. She developed Mustang through the Sundance Labs and received the Sundance Institute/NHK Award for the project in 2015.

Based on Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre's short film Rabbit (2014), about a female prisoner entrusted with the titular animal as part of a correctional facility's 'pet partnership' program.

American Humane monitored the animal action. No animals were harmed®. (AHD 07635)

This film was supported by The Sundance Institute Feature Film Program Sundance Institute Catalyst and by Sundance/NHK International Filmmakers Award, organized by Sundance Institute and NHK.

Popular Dialogues

"Martha: When I was six, I, uh, started to write letters of support to your parole board. But your parole was always denied, so I thought it was my fault that you were still in prison, because I wasn't a good enough writer. Then, when I got older, I understood. You didn't want to get out. So I stopped writing. I kept one of those letters. "My dad is fun. Send him back home"."

"Psychologist: You've been in isolation. What do you think about that? Roman: I'm not good with people."
