TRIVIA

Trivia

Filmed on a budget of only $500US (approximately $800NZ). The director was inspired by the early films of Robert Rodriguez and Peter Jackson and thanks them accordingly in the credits.

Shot on MiniDV format on a Sony Handycam Camcorder (model TR-17E). The video footage was altered heavily in the post-production process and film lights with green gels were used to create a more filmic look.

The filmmakers created the movie as an experiment in low-budget, high-production-value filmmaking. The goal was to see what kind of "quality" could be produced without professional equipment.

The film totaled over 70,000 downloads in its first five days; its website received 3 million hits in the same period. It also featured as a story on the New Zealand Television One National News and the national newspaper - The New Zealand Herald.

The movie was filmed entirely by friends of the producers - people they knew socially and from their martial arts school.
