The Follower was made with a very little budget. It was written/ directed/ edited in four and a half months, including only 12 days of shooting.
During the shooting a woman living in the area visited the staff and told them the house has always been said to be haunted since a long time...
At the end of the "broken plates" scene, the shooting was disturbed by a real sudden draft. The whole staff jumped with fright.
On March 10th, 2017, a slight earthquake struck the area where the movie was shot. Early in the morning, the mansion trembled for a few seconds. The whole staff was really scared to death.
"Carol Anderson: I have a sixth sense. Spirits and I can communicate."
"Carol Anderson: Do not enter or shoot my grandmother's room upstairs."
