This movie was filmed in and around Parry Lodge in Kanab, Utah. This lodge was opened in the early 1930s by the Parry brothers, as a place in which to lodge Hollywood film crews who came out to that area of Utah to film some of the early westerns. Over the years many famous movie stars have stayed at this lodge.
Copyright dated 1956. Refused a certificate by the British Board of Film Censors on 8 January 1957, (the BBFC were noted for disliking films that featured mental illness). United Artists reduced the running time to 71 minutes and 7 seconds and the film was passed with an "A" certificate on 23 April 1957. First shown at the UA Own Theatre, Wardour Street, on 1 May 1957 (screened at 10:30 and 2:30 for press and trade only). Generally released on 27 May 1957, supporting Drango (1957).
