STORY

Story
Three retired sea captains living together in genteel squalor. They scheme to improve their fortunes by having one of them solicit a bride through an ad in a Boston newspaper. Peter Boyle was originally cast, but he died before shooting began.

Several local residents were used as extras. One local fisherman had such an authentic appearance that reflected the period, including an "old salt" type beard, that he needed no makeup or costuming.

Angelica Page, that stars in this movie, is Rip Torn's real life daughter.
