Adam Goldberg claims that he knew he had to do this movie as soon as he read the line "Shabbat shalom, motherfuckers!"

The original script called for a cameo from US Senator Joe Lieberman (Democrat, later Independent, of Connecticut), but Lieberman turned it down, so the role went to former New York City mayor Ed Koch, who was recruited at the last minute by one of the producers.

The Hebrew Hammer was also the nickname of baseball legend Hank Greenberg of the Detroit Tigers.

When Steven Spielburg is suggested as a candidate to take on the new Santa, Chief Bloomenbergensteinenthal responds "He made E.T.! How tough is that?'. Peter Coyote, who plays Chief Bloomenbergensteinenthal, was in E.T.

At the time of the movie's release, the movie had it's own website which featured trailers and an interactive version of the game Space Invaders called Gentile Invaders, which featured a menorah as the player icon at the bottom of the screen which you moved right and left while shooting upward towards the Invaders that dropped swastikas.
