TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Thora Birch was paid a highly publicized seven-figure salary, due to her recent acclaimed appearance in American Beauty (1999).

In the book, Liz, Alex, Frankie and Jeff were trapped in an abandoned cellar. In the film, Liz, Mike, Geoff and Frankie are trapped in an abandoned underground nuclear fallout shelter.

The casting of Thora Birch secured the necessary funding for the film.

Guy Burt wrote the novel the film is based upon at the age of 18, not long after he left school.

According to interviews, during the shower scene, many of the male actors said they enjoyed being naked in front of the then 15-year old Keira Knightley. And at the end of the scene, when she tells the young boy to go, that was an improvised moment on her part.

Popular Dialogues

"Mike: For me, all for me. I killed my best friend, you let me think I was going to die, and you watched me kill my best friend. I killed him for a fucking coke! You let Frankie die! You held her hand and you let her die."

"Martyn: No, no, no, no, no - you love me! It's a Martyn Taylor fact. Has there been a day in the last five years that we haven't talked? Elizabeth Dunn: But you're more like a gay friend than a boyfriend. Martyn: But I'm not gay! Jogging Rugby Players: Yeah, right!"
