The cave they pull into during the car chase is none other than Bronson Cave, known to millions for its use in such films and TV shows as Batman (1966), Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956) and It Conquered the World (1956).
Several scenes were recreated in Dolemite Is My Name (2019), although that film is ostensibly about the making of Dolemite (1975), this film's predecessor.
Ernie Hudson was not available for all his scenes, so a body double was used when necessary.
The bed was put on a dolly for the sex scene between Dolemite and Mrs. Cavaletti.
