TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Some of the early scenes at the mental hospital were not actually shot by director Larry Stewart. Peter Crane was originally attached to the film but the production got off to a rough start as shooting fell behind schedule and the budget started to be exceeded. Producers brought in Stewart to replace Crane on the film.

The location used for the mall was the Dallas Market Center. The crew would shoot over night in the building after it closed at 7pm but would have to wrap up and be out by opening at 7am the next morning; thus, each night shoot at the location would have to be done in 12 hour increments.

The original director, Peter Crane, was said to have European art house sensibilities that clashed with the producers desires to make a mainstream slasher film. He still managed to direct a few scenes before being replaced, which remain in the movie.

The first feature starring role for Daphne Zuniga.

Marilyn Kagan, who plays "Marcia," went on to host a top-rated radio show, on KFI in Los Angeles. As she is an LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker,) she took calls from listeners, and answered their therapeutic questions.

Popular Dialogues

"Peter: I suggest you take two aspirin and go right to bed. Alison: With whom?"

"Kelly Fairchild: I just had to get out of there. It was fun for a while. I don't know, I couldn't stop thinking about this other party I went to a long time ago. I think I was around twelve. Yeah, yeah I was twelve. Anyway, this fifty year old lady comes up to me and starts talking and asking me these questions. Like, did I have crushes on guys; did I have a boyfriend. I didn't. I mean, I was too young. Anyway, at the time I thought it was a dumb conversation. But then I realized what she was doing. She's forgotten her youth. And through me, she was trying to live it again. So ever since then, I mean growing up and everything, I've tried to remember every little thing. Like tonight. I've just been waking around, memorizing everything. I don't want to forget it. And I know I'll never live this again."
