Based on the book "The Irresistible Blueberry Bakeshop & Café" by Mary Simses.

Shirley Jones, who plays the grandmother of Ellen (Alison Sweeney) in this film, guest starred on Days of Our Lives (1965) as Colleen Brady, great-grandmother to Sweeney's character, Sami Brady. Sweeney played Young Colleen in flashbacks.

The farmhouse was also featured in an episode of Psych and as Mulder's house in the X Files revival.
