The haunting songs on the soundtrack are sung by Faroese singer Eivor, who also sings on The Last Kingdom.

For the U.S release the trailer was re-cut from the original to make it look like a horror, whereas the UK trailer is 20 seconds longer and shows a slow burn folk thriller.

The LA Times called the film "a dark fairy tale".
