IMDbBest DVDBluRay Classic Film Release | 2018
Has the singular distinction of being the only theatrical film produced by Twentieth Century-Fox during the entire calendar year of 1970, this due to financial reversals incurred by the studio when several of its recent films failed at the box office.
Spurred by the phenomenal success of Rosemary's Baby (1968), Producer Quinn Martin paid over $250,000 for the rights to the novel on which this film is based.
At one point in the film, there is a reference to the "Curious Case of Benjamin Button", the short story by F. Scott Fitzgerald first published in 1922. When Myles is having his facial mask done by Paula, Duncan comes into the room and after a few moments says, "People should be born at seventy, and live their life backwards!" This is the exact age of Benjamin Button when he is "born" in the Fitzgerald story.
The mask worn by the black dog is that of William Shatner, the same style mask worn by Michael Myers in the original Halloween (1978).
The exteriors of Duncan Ely's home were shot at 380 S.San Rafael Avenue, Pasadena (including a few night scenes) better known as Wayne Manor in Fox's 'Batman'.
"Duncan Ely: People should be born at the age of 70 and live their life backwards."
"[after smashing a headlight with a wrench] Paula Clarkson: Oh, by the way, someone smashed one of the headlights. You shouldn't leave the Rolls out there in plain view. This neighborhood is full of rich teenaged bastards."
