Trivia

This Dirk Bogarde movie was the inspiration for the name of the British band Wayne Fontana and The Mindbenders.

First credited film appearance of Wendy Craig. Her second was The Servant (1963) released later in 1963 which also had Dirk Bogarde and James Fox (Edward's brother).

In the U.K. print, top-billed Sir Dirk Bogarde (Dr. Henry Laidlaw Longman) does not turn up until eighteen minutes in.

This was the last film in which John Clements - who was quite a big star in the late 1930s and early 1940s - received above-the-title billing.

The last of more than twenty British films for which French composer Georges Auric wrote the music.
