TRIVIA

Trivia

Set in Sony's Spider-Man Universe (SSU), the same universe in which Venom (2018), Venom: Let There Be Carnage (2021), Morbius (2022), Silver Sable, The Black Cat, Nightwatch, Jackpot, Silk, and Madame Web (2024) are set.

The fourth film in Sony's Spider-Man Universe (SSU).

Sony executive Sanford Panitch had to Google Aaron Taylor-Johnson's name before casting him for the role.

Before Aaron Taylor-Johnson was cast as Kraven the Hunter, Brad Pitt, Keanu Reeves, John David Washington and Adam Driver were all in the running for the role.

There were many attempts to bring Kraven the Hunter to the big screen, all of which ultimately fell through. Sam Raimi wanted him to appear in Spider-Man 4 before it was canceled, and Kraven's spear appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) as a tease for his planned appearance in the Sinister Six film that was also canceled. As for the MCU, Ryan Coogler wanted to include him in Black Panther (2018), taking inspiration from Christopher Priest's Black Panther comic book, but he couldn't secure the rights. Jon Watts wanted Kraven to be the backup villain for Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) in case the multiverse story didn't pan out.
