TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Two characters' names are Walter and Lillian Elias. Walt Disney's middle name was Elias and his wife's name was Lillian.

In this movie, Sharon's (Hayley Mills') daughter is named Nikki Ferris. That was also the name of Hayley Mills' character in The Moon-Spinners (1964), although spelled "Nikky" instead of "Nikki".

Carrie Kei Heim's final role.

Several of the character names in this movie are references to Hayley Mills' subsequent Disney works. Susan's married name Carey was the family name in Summer Magic (1963). Mary Grant (changed to Grand for this film) was her character in In Search of The Castaways (1962), and Nikki (or Nikky) Ferris was her character in The Moon-Spinners (1964).

Popular Dialogues

"[first lines] Nikki Ferris: Mom! [Sharon comes running to Nikki's bedroom] Sharon Ferris: Nikki? What on Earth is wrong? Nikki Ferris: Mom we can't move to New York! We can't! There was a thing on the news just now about a woman in Manhattan who got attacked by a guy in a nun's suit! Sharon Ferris: "Habit", Nikki. Nikki Ferris: Who CARES why he did it?"

"Nikki Ferris: "Passionately yours". That's the way Rob Lowe signs all his letters in Sixteen Magazine."
